Membership Info
Becoming a member of the Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club is fairly
simple, and can be done within one month. The following steps must be taken
in order to gain the status of a Senior Member. As a Senior Member, you will
be able to vote at General Membership meetings and in elections of the club
board, and have access to use the club facility outside of scheduled public
events.
Membership Requirements
- Pick up a membership
application. Visit the club for an
application and details on membership requirements or print your own
application from http://www.lprgc.org/ApplicationForms.pdf.
Fill out the application at any time, but don't date it or sign it. You will
complete those fields in person when you submit your application.
Applications for membership will only be accepted in person. Please
arrive by 7:30 pm to submit your application prior to the General
meeting starting at 8:00 pm.
- Attend a General Meeting.
The General Meetings are at 8 pm the first Tuesday of every month. New
members should come to the meeting at 7:30 to submit their application
to the Membership Secretary,
the Membership Secretary. You must apply in person, no new membership
applications are accepted by mail. You will need to be sponsored by a
current Senior Member in good standing. Your sponsor must be with you
when you submit your application. You will be issued a provisional
membership card after your application has been accepted and dues have
been paid.
- Find a Sponsor. Any
Senior Member in good standing can be your sponsor. If you do not
already know a club member to sponsor you, you may find one during your
provisional membership period. It is as simple as asking a fellow club
member, "Would you mind being my sponsor?"
- Attend an Orientation
Meeting. Club Orientation is at 7 pm on the second Thursday of every
month to explain the club rules and regulations. You may also opt to
qualify for indoor range use following orientation.
- Attend a Club Work
Party. Work Parties are usually the second Saturday of the month,
from 8 am until noon. Archery Work Parties are the Saturday before the
second Sunday, March through September. The club requires a minimum of 4
hours of work that benefits the club of all new members. We encourage
existing members to also attend club work parties, but it is not
required.
PLEASE NOTE: prospective members who submit their application BEFORE
October 31, 2004 will only be required to fulfill ONE 4-hour work party
requirement in order to become a Senior Member. As of November 1, 2004 a
new policy goes into effect. Under the new policy, new members will be
required to work 4 hours per year for their first FOUR years of
membership. The first year's work party is mandatory for full membership
status. The 4 hours per year for the next three years is required to
avoid an additional $25 maintenance fee assessment.
- Attend a second
General Meeting. You will be issued your Senior Membership Key Card
at the second meeting you attend. You have three months from the first
meeting to complete the requirements for membership and attend a second
general meeting. The General Meetings are at 8 pm the first Tuesday of
every month.

There is a one-time $100 initiation fee for all new members plus a

Membership Fees for Family and Guests
A Senior Member that wishes to bring family members to the club can
purchase either a Spouse or Junior Membership for each individual. Spouse
membership dues are $17.40/year, and Junior Memberships for children under
the age of 18 are $11.60/year. Family memberships cannot access the club
without the presence of the Senior Member, nor can they vote in General
Meetings or in elections of club officers. Should a Spouse or Junior member
choose to upgrade their membership at a later date, there is no initiation
fee, but the other new member requirements must be completed.
A Senior Member can also purchase a guest stamp for $30/year. With a guest
stamp, a Senior Member can bring up to 2 guests to the club. There is no
limitation on the number of guest visits allowed, only on the number of
guests at each visit. The Senior Member is responsible for ensuring guests
follow all club rules and safety procedures.
