Basic Pistol

This seven hour NRA Certified course is designed to familiarize the new or experienced shooter with the safe and proper use of the pistol. This course is a prerequisite for the Personal Protection Course. Experienced shooters can also benefit from a review of fundamentals, especially with our one-on-one coaching.

The majority of the course hours are live-fire exercises on the indoor range.

Equipment:

1. Any centerfire handgun in good operating condition that is suitable for self-defense and fires non-magnum ammunition
   • Example: (.357 Magnum pistol O.K. if .38 Special ammunition is used.)
   • Note: NO single shot handguns or Westen-style "cowboy" single-action revolvers
2. Approximately 250 rounds of ammunition will be required
   • Spare magazines or speedloaders are not required, but are highly recommended

Requirements:

1. Eye and ear protection is required on the indoor and outdoor range
2. You must be a Senior Member to enroll
3. A non-refundable payment of $75.00 is required in advance and in full to register

Your first chance to enroll for courses in 2008 will be at the General Meeting on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 8:00 pm. Click here for an enrollment form. No applications, either by mail or in person, will be accepted before the night of the January 8^th General Meeting.
