Junior Rifle
The Junior Rifle Program at Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club is designed to
teach juniors 11-18 years of age firearm safety and the basics of rifle
marksmanship. Juniors are introduced to the proper use of some of the
basic
equipment used in target shooting. Rifles, equipment and ammunition are
provided by the club.
The courses of fire in the Junior Rifle Program are designed to take
shooters from beginning skill levels (Pro-Marksman, Marksman) through
intermediate levels (Marksman 1st Class, Sharpshooter, Expert).
Junior Rifle meets on each Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm September 14th,
2005 through June.14th, 2006. The Junior Rifle Program does not meet on
the
last Wednesday of the month when the LPR&GC board generally meets at the
club house. The Junior Rifle program only accepts new junior
participants
every 13 weeks. There is no fee for the program. We ask that
participants
attend as regularly as possible, taking into account the priorities of
school, family and extracurricular activities. New junior participants
can
begin the program on the following dates:
September 14, 2005
December 14, 2005
March 15, 2006
Enrollment is limited to 14 participants on a "first come first
served"
basis with priority given to returning juniors. If you are a returning
junior, please contact us to let us know to expect you.
We do prefer that the junior has a junior membership at LPR&GC. The
fee is
$10 annually. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
If you wish to enroll a junior in the Junior Rifle Program or, if you have
any questions about the program, please contact Burt Malschick or Joe Indelicarto
via email at lprgc@lowerprovidencerodandgunclub.com
or visit the club on a Wednesday night.
Our Junior Rifle Program is funded through grants awarded to the program by
the NRA Foundation, Inc. as well as from the club's general funds.
Proceeds from your personal participation in Genuardi's "escript"
program
help fund our program as well. As a result of your participation in
this
program, Genuardi's makes contributions to LPR&GC which are earmarked for
the club's youth programs. Please see below.
LPR&GC is now part of Genuardi's "eScrip" program.
Please choose our Club as the recipient of your Genuardi tapes from the
Community Cash Back program. Go to www.escrip.com.
Our Group ID number is: 149842035. The proceeds from the eScrip program help
support our youth programs.
